13th International Anti-corruption Conference closes with calls for integrated solutions to fight massive hindrance
Athens, 2 November, 2008 - Seeking to put an end to the misery, alienation and instability that corruption breeds, a global anti-corruption meeting culminated today in Athens, with a call for making corruption a key factor that must be addressed in order to strengthen financial, environmental and natural resources governance.

World leaders, visionaries, advocates meet to find solutions to scourge of corruption
As the world faces financial, energy and food crises and the challenges to governance and accountability they pose, the global anti-corruption community gathers for the 13th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) beginning tomorrow, 30 October 2008 in Athens, Greece.

Accreditation guidelines
Press accreditation is available to journalists from all fields of the media (print, online, TV, radio, web TV and photographers) who will be covering the 13th IACC to be held on 30 October to 02 November 2008 in Athens, Greece. Accreditation for the 13th IACC constitutes registration for the Conference and is not subject to any fees.
How to apply for accreditation
To become accredited, please submit the 13th IACC Media Accreditation Form and a clear photocopy or scanned copy of your valid professional press card via fax or e-mail by September 30, to the contact persons indicated below.
Freelancers are required to provide an official assignment letter from the responsible editor confirming assignment to cover the 13th IACC in addition to a copy of a valid press card.
Online press should provide an official letter signed by their editor confirming assignment to cover the 13th IACC and containing information about updates and daily hits on the site.

The deadline for requesting early accreditation is 30 September 2008.
The status of your accreditation will be confirmed latest two weeks after the submission of your accreditation form. Early accreditation assures that your credential will be ready for pick-up once you arrive at the conference. It is strongly recommended that applications for accreditation be submitted as early as possible in order to avoid delays.

Press credentials will be available at the media accreditation counter at the entrance of the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, starting on 30 October upon presentation of a valid press card with photo. Please note that press passes are not transferable.
Lost press passes must be reported immediately to the onsite Media Coordinator.
Upon arrival press will be given:
- Press identification badge (yellow)
- Press kit (English, Greek and third language version)
Onsite accreditation will be granted during the entire conference, provided the accreditation form and other required supporting documents are presented. However, to avoid delays at the conference, it is advisable to request accreditation in advance.
General inquiries or questions relating to technical requirements and logistical matters should also be addressed to the above mentioned Media Coordinators.
Press Filing Centre
The press filing centre will be located next to the Plenary, Press Conference and Workshop areas. The centre will provide work stations and computers with updated software, desks and hook-ups for working with your own laptop, IT support, broadband WIFI internet access, printers & fax machine. Copies of speeches, press releases, the Conference Programme, a press conference schedule and other relevant information will be available.

Language: Official language is English; Plenary sessions will have simultaneous translation into the 6 UN languages and Greek. Workshops and special events will have simultaneous translations into English and Greek.
Please note that journalists accredited to cover the 13th IACC are responsible for their own travel and hotel arrangements.
